Much to my surprise (and dismay), the concert program didn't list a single song from Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or E.T., and I began to think that all the patrons who brought lightsabers with them would be sorely disappointed.
The first half of the concert entailed music from the Harry Potter series, followed by a variety of songs (the most recognizable being a few from Catch Me If You Can) and ending with the Superman Theme.
...then came the encores. ^_^
First up was Yoda's Theme from The Empire Strikes Back.
Next was the Star Wars Theme, which we had all been waiting for the entire time. From the very first note, the seats instantly lit up with the glow of a hundred or more lightsabers.
After that, came the E.T. Theme.
The fourth and final encore was none other than The Imperial March. Once again, the crowds roared in applause and raised their lightsabers to the sky. There were so many lightsabers, that apparently two got in the way of a stage camera focusing on the orchestra, causing a red and blue glow to carry over onto the 4 big screen monitors.
Well, that was the highlight of my day.
